The Bette Center

Admission Criteria:
The individual must be 18 years or older
May be completing or have completed a course of treatment but not ready for independent living

In order to be admitted into the Hope House Adult Residential Treatment Program you must qualify with a primary diagnosis of chemical dependency.  Additionally, the Adult Residential program welcomes patients eighteen years old and over.  Younger applicants may qualify for the Youth Residential Treatment Program. An assessment process has been put in place to see if there is a need for a long term residential treatment plan where family and peers are involved.

To begin the admittance procedure, please call the Hope House Outpatient Clinic (518-427-8207) and complete confidential phone interview. At the end of this interview you will be assisted with the next steps for admission.

Through the assessment process, in order to be accepted into the Adult Residential program, there must be a need for long term residential treatment where family and peers are involved.

Finally, and most importantly, a candidate must be willing and able to participate in his or her own treatment.

Women and Children’s Program

Admissions is based on a comprehensive individual assessment including a health history and evaluation of medical and psychiatric needs.  In addition, the needs of any children involved are assessed.  Each potential client’s needs are then considered to determine an appropriate level of care.

To be considered for admission, an applicant must be:

A female at least 18 years of age.
In need of chemical dependency services.
Free of serious communicable diseases that can be transmitted through ordinary contact.
Free of a need for acute hospital care, intensive psychiatric care or other extensive services that might prevent her from being able to actively participate in the program.
Children must be enrolled in day care or school before they enter the residence with their mother.  While residing with the children in the program, the mother must participate in treatment.

Referring Professionals
Contact the Case Manager during working business hours, Monday through Friday 8am-4pm.

* Women who are pregnant are eligible for admission.  Priority is given to pregnant women who are IV drug users.

The Children’s Residential Program

The referring agent or family member will contact the facility and speak with the Admission Coordinator regarding admission.

Adolescent intake process

The referring agent or family member will contact the facility and speak with the Admission Coordinator regarding the referral.  If he/she is deemed appropriate at the initial stage, a request for records from the referring agent will be made and the parent or legal guardian of the client will need to contact the program secretary to schedule an intake appointment, where needed release forms will be signed by the client and parent or legal guardian.  The parent or legal guardian will then contact our Financial Case Manager to begin the financial paper work needed prior to admission and presented for approval.  Once the client is approved the parent or legal guardian will be contacted to discuss the admission procedure, and put on a waiting list until such time as a gender appropriate bed becomes available.
